COMPETITION HIGHLIGHTS

Sensei Sandra Phillips started competition in 1992 as a beginner/intermediate student of Chito-Ryu Karate and soon moved into competing regularly in AKF and Chito-Ryu Karate Tournaments. The period 1992 – 2000 seen a heavy involvement of sport karate specific training and cross training (running, cycling, gym).

In all the tournaments Sensei Sandra Phillips ever entered she always walked away in the top three places of her events. Little did she realise at that time how much these events where shaping her character and developing such a strong determination, self discipline, perseverance, never give up attitude, and a desire to continue to herself to achieve even greater goals.

From 1995 through to 2001 Sensei Sandra Phillips placed consistently in the top 3 of the International Chito-Ryu Karate Championships. By 2004, Sensei Sandra Phillips International Chito-Ryu Karate Championships Sensei Sandra Phillips was to win GOLD!

CURRENT FOCUS

Sensei Sandra Phillips resides on the Sunshine Coast with her family overseeing the development and expansion of Sunshine Coast Karate.

Sensei Sandra Phillips makes time everyday to enjoy the family life and continue her daily training and studies of Chito-Ryu Karate. You will always find Sensei Sandra Phillips in her spare time exploring her technique, with a book in her hand, being inspired by an audio program of sorts or developing her teaching methods to better serve her students and family.

Sensei Sandra Phillips extends her martial arts studies by exploring the universal laws and maximising human potential along side of reiki and the developing a greater awareness of self care and the principles of health and the human body.

Sensei Sandra Phillips has since begun sharing educational material beyond the doors of Sunshine Coast Karate. Sharing valuable life skills taught in the martial arts dojo and how families can apply them to their lives to unite families and improve their quality of life.
