Soke Cup

Every 3 years member countries of the International Chito-Ryu Karate-do Federation get together for the Soke Cup, which is an international tournament. Throughout the history of the event, it has been held in various countries thoughout the world including: Japan, Canada, Australia and Norway. The standard of the competition is very high as the event attracts the top Chito-Ryu competitors from around the world. And the host country of the event always makes sure that visitors are enjoy the local area and shares in cross-cultural experiencesof all participants.

Sunshine Coast Instructors, Martin & Sandra Phillips have been representatives on the Australian team on numerous occasions, Martin since 1989 and Sandra since 1995. Both have also been medalists and even winners in their respective divsions. Since 2005 Sandra has been the coach of the national team and helps assist regional coaches and dojo instructors prepare competitors so that they may achieve the best possible results.

Since Chito-Ryu Karate-do first came to the Sunshine Coast in 2000 we have been represented at each Soke Cup with numerous medalists. See all Sunshine Coast representatives and medallists.
